Blushing Bride | A gold and blush bridal headpiece for Ana
When bride-to-be Ana was first in touch with me about a blush bridal headpiece with gold and ivory tones, my little heart almost popped with excitement. I LOVE blush tones and when they’re combined with gold and ivory, it feels like fireworks are about to go off in my head. I did have to contain my excitement, but deep down, I wanted to clap my hands together and do a little dance.
Blush wedding dresses are one of my favourite things in wedding land and bridal headpieces with blush detailing are the stuff dreams are made of. Well, maybe in addition to macaroon cakes and Dogs of Honour at a wedding ceremony!
It’s so inspiring seeing more and more brides confidently branch out from the traditional white and ivory and journey into the wonderful world of champagne, blush and even floral wedding dresses. What I love the most about blush gowns is that they’re not as girly as some might fear – it’s all about embracing all that is feminine in you and confidently taking aisle style to a glamorous new level.
Plus, let’s face it – there’s a HUGE difference between a pastel pink wedding dress compared to the softest, sweetest hue of glorious blush that suits a wide range of skin tones.
It was such an honour to work with Ana to create her bespoke bridal headpiece. Combining two of her favourite styles from the collection – the Sonnet and the Juliet – I started designing and constructing her precious piece which she plans to wear at the back of her head; much like a reverse tiara.
To complement Ana’s blush toned gown which features ivory lace details, I handcrafted her headpiece from the sweetest freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals in soft blush and combined it with scattering of shimmering pearls and rhinestones. In amongst the vines, I adorned her piece with small clay flowers in the loveliest shade of pearly ivory.
I was so excited to hear Ana’s reaction when I showed her the piece I created for her. Not long to go now until Ana’s special day – I wish her all the very best for her wedding day and a lifetime of beautiful moments xx
