Timeless Chic | Classic bride inspiration – Kate Bosworth
I recently saw a beautiful photo from Kate Bosworth’s wedding day and was mesmerised by the classic beauty. I started scrolling online and found myself days later on the Vogue Wedding Channel. Time disappears so quickly when you’re in the land of Vogue!
Vogue have captured Kate’s excitement of her final wedding dress fitting in such a beautiful way. In the video Kate describes how her Oscar de la Renta wedding dress is a reflection of her love for her partner, her life and the woman she has become which is quite moving.
The official wedding photos don’t seem to be released yet but from the couple of images I have seen both Kate and her husband, Michael Polish, look stunning.
Kate seems to have captured the perfect balance of classic elegance with sparkle. The dress was beautifully accessorised with a vintage rhinestone tiara and a cathedral length veil. The perfect additions to Kate’s minimal ivory strapless gown and amazing 8ft train. A train of that length is sure to add a touch of drama.
Accessorising for classic brides
Accessorising a classic look is really important – it’s that perfect balance between just enough and not too much. While accessorising is fun and there are so many options often restraint is the ultimate sign of a refined and classic bride. My recommendations for a classic bride look are a soft tulle veil, a pearl comb or a simple rhinestone headband.
The tiara Kate wore reminded me of the beautiful rhinestone headband with ribbon I made for the lovely bride Melissa earlier this year, both Kate and Melissa’s headpieces have extraordinary timeless beauty.
I think what Kate achieved on her wedding day is what Percy Handmade aspires to… classic elegance and beauty with a touch of glamour and bespoke individuality.
