Gold Rush | A bespoke gold wedding headpiece for Ruby
I’m loving that more and more brides are adorning their tousled and tamed tresses with golden bridal headpieces on their wedding days. It’s not surprising though, there’s something about the warmth and opulence of soft golden tones that captures the spirit of a bridal affair so perfectly.
It was such a pleasure to work with UK bride Ruby a short time ago to create her special gold wedding headpiece for her winter wedding day. Ruby sent me an email with photos of her bridal dress and hairstyle, and also shared with me some of her favourite styles from the collection.
She loved the Juliet bridal comb and the Wild Willows headpiece but she had a vision of a larger piece that she could position from behind to frame her bridal up-do. After sharing a few emails back and forth, she also mentioned she was getting married in the middle of winter and she wanted a piece that featured her favourite floral accents with a touch of icy cool detailing.
Oh, such bliss! Ruby definitely has the key to my heart and my creative juices started flowing immediately. To keep the golden tones soft and subtle, I paired some handcrafted antique gold wired leaves with freshwater pearls, handcrafted ivory pearl flowers and sprays of clear crystals. I absolutely love how her headpiece turned out but I do wish my photography skills were better because I don’t feel the images below do justice to Ruby’s headpiece!
This pretty piece was such a joy to design and create, and I also love it’s versatility. I’m imagining this piece positioned to the side of a loose messy bun, gently curved to the contours of soft curves. Oh deary me, heaven!
