Golden Touch | Rhinestone bridal headpiece in soft gold and ivory tones
Tell me… is it just me or have you ever noticed how it’s so easy to find silver toned bridal accessories but when it comes to gold, the options are far more limited and everything looks almost more yellow than ‘gold’? Whenever I design a bridal headpiece in gold tones, I always like to make sure that the gold details and materials I work with look deliciously golden, almost matte and sun-kissed rather than that overly yellow gold look. I think this softer shade of gold works so much more beautifully for a wedding day – wouldn’t you agree?
I have a huge soft spot for gold tones so you may have noticed that almost all pieces in the collection can be made in gold – a girl should have options, right?!
This is exactly the issue that New Zealand bride Janna mentioned during our conversations when I was designing her Empress rhinestone bridal headpiece for her in custom gold tones. And I completely understood exactly where she was coming from and together we shared a love for more of an antique gold loveliness.
One way I like to soften the overall ‘gold’ look is to incorporate soft ivory tones in a piece. After all, ivory and gold are quite simply a match made in heaven. The amount of ivory will vary depending on the bride’s jewellery and wedding dress but I think overall this muted look offers so much more in timeless appeal with a hint of vintage-inspired glamour.
I love how this finished piece looks and I’m thrilled that Janna loves it too. The perfect blend of sophistication, elegance and bohemian chic!
