An Evening in Florence

Nothing says spring wedding more than bursts of floral wedding hair accessories, light-as-air wedding veils and romantic colour accents. Marking the beginning of a new season, a springtime wedding symbolises renewal, new energy and a celebration of beauty. During Covid times, the idea of coming together during such a beautiful time in nature’s cycle is one to be cherished.

In addition to the joys that comes with reconnecting and mingling with loved ones after a cold and harsh winter, a springtime wedding offers an abundance of florals and greenery that creates the perfect backdrop for an utterly romantic wedding day.  Add to that the whiff of fragrance in the air and the warmth of the new season’s sun, and your wedding day will be one to remember for years to come.

Bring this mood into your bridal look with some simple floral bridal accessories in your hair, couture details on your veil or a softly tousled hairstyle to capture a breezy and effortless vibe. We love to incorporate warm tones of blush and pale gold into bridal hairstyles to accentuate the warmth and free-spirited nature of springtime.

Our must have bridal accessories for spring weddings include embellished veils, delicate hair flower pins and floral crowns to set the mood for a luxurious and captivating wedding day.

For some brides, a wedding isn’t a wedding without a beautiful crown. Like the icing on a cake, a wedding crown can transform a bridal look from bohemian luxe to contemporary and chic to a countryside romantic look with just a few tweaks to the detailing. Whether your crown features a tall profile, a low set profile or something in between, there’s a crown for every face shape and bridal style.

A hair vine featuring floral and foliage is an effortless way to frame a half up hairstyle or a romantic updo. It’s also the perfect adornment to finish the top of a wedding veil so it seamlessly transitions into a frothy or minimalist veil. After the ceremony, remove your veil and leave the headpiece in place to finish your reception hairstyle.

Bride Olivia dreamed of her wedding day with husband Jack to be “bursting with beautiful blooms”. With thoughtful styling and colour coordinating, their wedding flowers were even better than she imagined. Their floral arches, bouquets and centrepieces were truly beautiful and romantic, complementing the sentiment of the day.

The flowers weren’t your classic baby’s breath either – orchids, roses and pampas grass were used in the arrangements to create a look that was dreamy and modern. This theme ran throughout the wedding, especially in Olivia’s bridal look. She wore a figure-hugging, sparkly lace gown and our TEMPEST crown with delicate crystal and pearl details. She was surrounded by a tulle aura, with the MARAIS veil completing her divine look.

Setting the scene

Olivia and Jack married at The War Memorial, a historic lakefront venue in Michigan, USA. The venue boasts formal gardens, a ballroom and a striking facade for the ceremony backdrop.

“The War Memorial attracted me because it looks like an estate in France, which goes along with the romantic vibe I desired,” says Olivia.

The venue styling was understated and elegant, with a soft neutral palette and warm pops of colour.

“I also really liked the way that everything didn’t totally match… I didn’t want to have specific ‘wedding colours’, instead, I wanted a soft palette where everything was cohesive yet not matchy-matchy,” she says.

Along with the beautiful floral displays, another special detail for Olivia was the wedding favours. She printed out tags with some of her favourite love poems and tied them around little bottles of Casa Migos (Olivia and Jack’s favourite tequila).

Divine styling

Olivia’s natural goddess-like beauty was elevated in her flowy lace gown with soft drapes and her golden accessories.

“I knew I didn’t want a ‘classic’ bridal look – I wanted something a little sexier, something with sparkle and texture. I loved Inbal Dror’s styles and found they fit my body very well. When I saw the perfect gown hanging in the sample basement of a local bridal boutique, I knew it was the one!”

Our gold TEMPEST crown featuring freshwater pearl cluster and crystal vines, along with the sleek and floaty MARAIS veil, further emphasised Olivia’s heavenly presence.

“A gold detailed crown-meets-headpiece was something I always wanted since it is the perfect combo of boho and regal. I discovered Tania Maras on Pinterest and loved the way they styled their accessories in a modern way. Since my dress was so intricate, I didn’t want the veil to compete, which is why the MARAIS veil was perfect.”

Best Advice

“Start early, because the details really add up to one ‘wow’ moment if you have time to think through it all! And make sure you really articulate what you want with vendors. Our vendors were so great at taking our preferences into account while still using their artistry and genius to create a wedding that was even better than we imagined,” says Olivia.

What happens when you fall in love with a few floral wedding headpieces and can’t decide which one to go for? Well, for US bride Tristan, she found herself in this exact situation when she discovered our CHERRY BLOSSOM set, and the MARION and the VERSAILLES headpieces.

When Tristan got in touch with her vision and predicament, we were instantly excited at the prospect of bringing together her favourite styles to create her perfect floral wedding headpiece. The styles she fell in love with all shared a number of common features: beautiful florals, an effortless regality and most importantly, their construction methods and aesthetics were similar which made it possible to bring her vision to life.

We believe that custom wedding accessories are just as important as having a wedding dress tailored and tweaked to suit your body shape and height. We all have different face shapes, hair thickness and types, and style, and we love to offer our brides the ability to tweak our designs so they are perfect for them.

Tristan's bridal look

Tristan had chosen an exquisite white wedding gown by Essence of Australia for her outdoor, garden wedding in Miami at a private Spanish style villa called Villa Woodbine.

Her bridal hairstyle is the epitome of style with hair mostly down and slightly pinned back with a boho style braid which she can tuck her veil into.

She shared pictures from her dress fitting of her wedding dress with her veil and we designed her hairpieces to take into account the width of her veil comb and the hairstyle she’d picked.

Combining a floral wedding headpiece with hair pins

The beauty of a larger headpiece and two matching pins is it will offer countless ways to style your hair. For Tristan, the larger floral headpiece is designed to frame her wedding veil and the two additional hair pins can be scattered as she pleases to add sense of whimsy. She can secure the pins at the ends of the piece to elongate the main headpiece or she can position them in the centre of the headpiece to fill it in and create more volume.

After the ceremony, Tristan can remove her veil and the hairpieces can stay in place or be restyled into a different configuration.

While some bridal trends come and go, it’s fair to say that soft romantic blush tints aren’t going anywhere. Blush tones – whether with a peach or pink undertone – are inherently warm and inviting and perfectly suit the spirit of a wedding day.  We love to work with this colour palette and we adore this newest floral wedding headpiece we designed for the loveliest bride Nhi.

When bride Nhi was in touch with us to chat about customising the VERSAILLES headpiece with blush flowers, we instantly fell in love. Wedding accessories don’t necessarily need to be silver or classic ivory. Warmer tones can be just as beautiful – feminine, decadent and romantic.

Gold and blush floral headpieces

If a look of decadence is what you’re after, gold and blush tones might be perfect for you. Not just for the bride wearing a blush wedding dress, this colour palette can be worn with ivory and nude wedding dresses, plain ivory gowns and dresses with warmer beaded details.

One of our favourite things about this colour palette is how seamlessly it blends in with blonde and brunette hair tones. The golden leaves feel subtle and inviting, and the pop of warmth from the blush tones add an element of interest without the overwhelm.
