An Evening in Florence

What happens when you fall in love with a few floral wedding headpieces and can’t decide which one to go for? Well, for US bride Tristan, she found herself in this exact situation when she discovered our CHERRY BLOSSOM set, and the MARION and the VERSAILLES headpieces.

When Tristan got in touch with her vision and predicament, we were instantly excited at the prospect of bringing together her favourite styles to create her perfect floral wedding headpiece. The styles she fell in love with all shared a number of common features: beautiful florals, an effortless regality and most importantly, their construction methods and aesthetics were similar which made it possible to bring her vision to life.

We believe that custom wedding accessories are just as important as having a wedding dress tailored and tweaked to suit your body shape and height. We all have different face shapes, hair thickness and types, and style, and we love to offer our brides the ability to tweak our designs so they are perfect for them.

Tristan's bridal look

Tristan had chosen an exquisite white wedding gown by Essence of Australia for her outdoor, garden wedding in Miami at a private Spanish style villa called Villa Woodbine.

Her bridal hairstyle is the epitome of style with hair mostly down and slightly pinned back with a boho style braid which she can tuck her veil into.

She shared pictures from her dress fitting of her wedding dress with her veil and we designed her hairpieces to take into account the width of her veil comb and the hairstyle she’d picked.

Combining a floral wedding headpiece with hair pins

The beauty of a larger headpiece and two matching pins is it will offer countless ways to style your hair. For Tristan, the larger floral headpiece is designed to frame her wedding veil and the two additional hair pins can be scattered as she pleases to add sense of whimsy. She can secure the pins at the ends of the piece to elongate the main headpiece or she can position them in the centre of the headpiece to fill it in and create more volume.

After the ceremony, Tristan can remove her veil and the hairpieces can stay in place or be restyled into a different configuration.

Whether you’re dreaming of a bohemian inspired wedding, a classic garden ceremony or a formal affair, a wedding flower crown can be the perfect piece to finish your bridal look.

There are so many ways to style a flower crown as it can be paired with a range of feminine necklines and dress silhouettes. It’s also the perfect substitute if you don’t want to wear a veil. If you’re fond of a veil, the combination would feel effortless and classically chic.

A bespoke flower crown for bride Lorraine

We recently had the pleasure to work with bride Lorraine to create her dream wedding crown. Lorraine loved the look of the MARJORIE and dreamed of a full halo with rose additions to better suit her wedding dress.

Lorraine is a natural beauty with the most exquisite rich red hair, and a flower crown is the perfect piece to frame her face and hair. In designing her piece, we wanted to make sure she had flexibility with styling so it’s fully adjustable and can be tightened or widened as needed.

Lorraine’s special piece also features delicate tiny clay flowers and tiny pearl accents that have been woven into the piece.

Customisable to suit you

We love to work with brides to bring their vision to life. Working with Lorraine was such a pleasure and it was a beautiful process to understand her vision and see her bridal look come together.

If you love the crown we designed for Lorraine, or if you would love a piece custom made to better suit you, get in touch. Share photos of your wedding dress and hairstyle and we can go from there.

“Soft, romantic and gentle”, the three words bride Leona used to describe her vision for her delicate hair vine.  After months of dreaming and searching online, the loveliest Leona was in touch with us about a bespoke headpiece for her late April wedding.  Leona loved our use of clay flowers in our headpieces, particularly the EDEN, MARJORIE and CASSIA headpieces. She preferred a more simple design with a classic colour palette of ivory/soft silver tones.

A custom headpiece to suit Leona's wedding dress

To bring together Leona’s bridal look, she shared with us photos of her wedding dress which featured exquisite floral details embroidered onto a fine lace.  She also picked a classic and chic updo that perfectly accentuated the neckline on her dress.

Taking into account the delicate floral details on Leona’s dress and her classic hairstyle, we got to work dreaming up her special headpiece.

A custom delicate hair vine

The headpiece we designed for Leona featured a combination of clay flowers, including our smallest flowers yet. Delicate and dainty details were scattered along her piece in an organic and untamed manner. We complemented these fine florals with shimmering crystals and pearl accents to add texture.

In searching for the perfect wedding accessories, you can quickly discover there are many directions you can go in. Regal and formal, relaxed and free-spirited or classic and chic? We love the essence of a flower halo to complete a bridal look but we also understand that sometimes you might want the formality of a wedding crown on your wedding day.

We understand the dilemma – there are only so many occasions in your life when you can wear a crown or tiara. It’s no wonder so many brides are torn on this decision!

We designed the ABIGAIL wedding crown for the free-spirited and modern bride.  A bride seeking something a little more polished and sophisticated combined with the organic styling of a floral halo.

We were inspired by the beauty of the night and the sweet fragrance of evening in bringing together this piece. It’s hard to deny that feeling you get when you walk past foliage in the evening and catch a scent so beautiful you wish you could bottle it. In addition to this, we love the simple beauty of a scrolling vine set high above your head – the perfect hybrid of a halo and a crown all in one.

How to style the ABIGAIL wedding crown

This enchanting piece feels classically chic yet relaxed, and can be easily styled in a range of wedding hairstyles.

The details and layout of this crown translates beautifully to modern clean updos, loose wedding hairstyles and even bohemian-inspired soft waves.

It can also be paired with a wedding veil – whether with a blusher or without. Although we must admit, we do love the idea of this crown under a sheer blusher as you walk down the aisle towards your beloved.

How to choose the right wedding crown

There’s a crown to suit every bride from the showstopper to understated glamour.

It’s a fair question and one that you generally wouldn’t think about in daily life. We’ve covered this and more here.

And of course, if you have any questions or would like to discuss which crown might be best for you, don’t hesitate to send us an email and we’d be happy to offer you styling advice.

We adored working with the loveliest bride Winnie to create a bespoke wedding headpiece for her upcoming wedding. Winnie’s favourite styles from the collection were the EDEN and the HELENA headpieces – much loved styles for their organic styling, delicate details and floral elements.

In creating her custom headpiece, we looked to these two styles for inspiration and customised the colour scheme and layout to suit her bridal look.

How to style this wedding headpiece

This special headpiece was designed to wind along Winnie’s hairline, featuring pearl and crystal details at perfect intervals to frame her loose curls and sweeping part to the right. Although it’s designed to be worn along the hairline, it can also be flipped over and worn backwards to captivate her guests from behind. It’s always lovely to offer our brides a second way of styling the one headpiece and there’s no doubt Winnie’s headpiece will exude whimsical and elegant appeal no matter how she chooses to wear it.

Rather than a formal crown or tiara, this piece is designed to be positioned directly on the hair to sit more as a wreath. The mid-section feels airy and spacious and the side clusters are slightly more detailed to perfectly frame her face.

Organic styling

There are so many things we love about Winnie’s bespoke headpiece.  There’s no denying we love its carefree spirit – as if it’s been plucked from among the vines. Its organic styling adds a touch of bohemian sophistication and the inviting tones of soft ivory, gold and touches of blush pink feel effortlessly chic.

To add a final touch of glamour to her ethereal organza and lace wedding gown, Winnie will be pairing this headpiece with our LOUVRE veil in soft ivory tones. This cathedral veil will frame the dramatic long train on her dress and create a look that’s regal and romantic.
