Blush and gold wedding headpieces are the epitome of romance and elegance, adding a touch of warmth and femininity to your bridal look.

When it comes to bridal fashion, the perfect headpiece can make all the difference. It’s that finishing touch that ties your entire look together, adding a layer of elegance, romance and personal style. For brides who are drawn to the softer side of the colour spectrum, blush and gold headpieces offer an exquisite combination of warmth, femininity, and sophistication. These pieces are not just accessories; they are statement makers, perfect for the fashion-forward bride who wants to blend timeless romance with modern glamour.

In this post, we’re exploring the must-have romantic blush and gold wedding headpieces that are taking the bridal world by storm. Whether you’re dreaming of a fairytale look or a chic, minimalist vibe, these headpieces are designed to elevate your wedding style to the next level.

The allure of warm blush and golden tones

Blush and golden tones are a match made in bridal heaven. Blush, with is soft pink hues, evokes a sense of romance, sweetness and femininity, while gold adds as touch of luxury, warmth and timeless elegance. Together, they create a harmonious blend that’s both contemporary and classic—a perfect palette for brides who want to shine on their big day.

We love the versatility of blush and golden headpieces. They can complement a wide range of gowns, from blush and champagne laces to sleek satin. Not limited to blush tones, ivory pairs beautifully with this colour palette and a wide range of wedding themes.

Practical advice for choosing the perfect blush and gold bridal headpiece

1. Coordinate with your dress and jewellery

When selecting a blush and gold headpiece, consider how it will complement your wedding dress and other accessories. Gold headpieces pair beautifully with warm-toned jewellery, such as rose gold or yellow gold, while blush tones work well with both silver and gold accents.

2. Consider your hairstyle

When selecting a blush and gold headpiece, consider how it will complement your wedding dress and other accessories. Gold headpieces pair beautifully with warm-toned jewellery, such as rose gold or yellow gold, while blush tones work well with both silver and gold accents.

3. Don't overdo it

When selecting a blush and gold headpiece, consider how it will complement your wedding dress and other accessories. Gold headpieces pair beautifully with warm-toned jewellery, such as rose gold or yellow gold, while blush tones work well with both silver and gold accents.

A wedding headpiece and veil is a timeless bridal look, creating a beautiful focal point as you walk down the aisle.

One of our favourite wedding looks combines two timeless accessories—wedding veils and headpieces—to create a beautifully layered, multi-dimensional bridal style. Whether you’re going for a classic, romantic vibe or something more modern and cic, layering a veil and a headpiece adds depth and personality to your look.  But achieving this balance requires careful consideration of styles, textures and placement. In this post, we’ll guide you through the process of layering a wedding veil with a headpiece, offering practical tips to ensure your accessories complement each other perfectly.

1. Choosing the right veil and headpiece combination

When layering a veil with a headpiece, the first step is selecting pieces that work harmoniously together. Here’s how to approach this:

Consider the veil length and style: The length and style of your veil will influence the type of headpiece that pairs best with it. For example:

  • Short veils (birdcage, blusher veils): These styles pair beautifully with smaller, more delicate headpieces, such as simple combs or vintage inspired clips.
  • Medium length veils (elbow, fingertip): These lengths are versatile and can be paired with a variety of headpieces, from intricate tiaras to floral crowns or statement combs.
  • Long veils (chapel, cathedral): Longer veils often work best with more substantial headpieces, like crowns or headpieces, which will anchor the veil and add a regal touch. The density of gathers on your veil and the width of the veil comb will also influence the overall look.

Match the aesthetic: Your veil and headpiece should share a similar aesthetic to create a cohesive look. If your veil is adorned with lace or beading, consider a headpiece that features similar details. Conversely, if your veil is simple and understated, a more ornate headpiece can add the right amount of flair and accentuate the details on the back of your wedding dress.

Coordinate with your dress: Ensure that both the veil and headpiece complement your wedding dress. For example, if your dress has a lot of intricate detailing you might opt for a simpler veil and headpiece to avoid overwhelming your lookd.

2. Placement matters: Positioning your veil and headpiece

The way you position the veil and headpiece can dramatically affect your overall bridal look. Here are some tips for getting it just right:

  • Classic placement: Traditionally, the veil and headpiece are positioned at the front/top of your headpiece. Similar to the look of a tiara, this look feels regal and effortless.
  • Contemporary placement: For a more modern look, consider placing the headpiece with the veil underneath at the top of an updo or half up hairstyle.
  • Low placement: If you’re wearing your hair in a low updo or chignon, you can position the headpiece and veil at the nape of your neck. The placement is elegant and works well for brides who prefer a subtle, understated look.

3. It's all about the proportions

When choosing your bridal comb, consider its proportion relative to your veil comb. You’ll be positioning them next to each other so size is important. The body of your bridal headpiece should be wider (longer) than the width of your veil comb.  So if your veil’s comb is 3 inches long, your headpiece needs to be at least 4-5 inches long.

  • Extra wide veil comb? A veil comb that’s 4-4.5 inches or wider is best styled with a longer and narrow comb.  Delicate hair pins will appear disproportionate and too busy in the hair.
  • Plastic veil comb? Consider the thickness of the veil comb itself, particularly ones that are attached to thick plastic combs with a lot of tulle wrapping.  These veils are hard to work with because they appear heavy and chunky in the hair. We avoid plastic combs across our collections and we only use fine metal hair combs as they’re stronger, sturdy, flexible and lightweight.
  • Love a fuller veil with lots of volume?  Ensure your headpiece is wide enough to cover the veil comb. The VERSE comb is a smaller comb that pairs perfectly with a fuller AMORA wedding veil. At just over 5.5 inches wide, the VERSE is perfect to cover a wedding veil comb that’s up to 4 inches wide.
  • If you prefer a sheer wedding veil, a drop veil like our ROSELLA chapel veil or BLAIR fingertip veil will sit flat against the head and will ensure your bridal comb will sit flush against it.

The advantages of wearing separate pieces rather than one that is sewn together

Choosing to have a separate veil and headpiece rather than one that is sewn together offers several key advantages in terms of flexibility, styling options and practicality.

  1. Flexibility in styling: When the pieces are separate, you have more versatility in how you style your hair and position the accessories. You can experiment with different looks, trying the veil at different heights. A separate headpiece and veil allows you to adapt your look throughout the day. For example, you might choose to remove the veil after the ceremony while keeping the headpiece on for the reception.
  2. Practicality: If the veil is sewn into the headpiece, removing the veil can be complicated and may require the help of a hairstylist. With separate pieces, the veil can be easily removed without disturbing the headpiece or hairstyle.
  3. Maintenance and care: It’s easier to manage, clean and store a veil and headpiece when they are separate. Veils are typically more delicate and prone to wrinkling, so having them unattached makes them easier to handle without damaging the headpiece.

How to secure your look

The more accessories you have in your hair, the greater the base that is needed to support them. We suggest the layered look is best suited for an updo, but a half-up half-down or even loose wavy hairstyles can be achieved using a few simple techniques to secure those metal hair combs.

If you are wearing your hair all down, your hairstylist will most likely create a hidden foundation under the hair to support the piece in your hair. These extra precautions (extra hair pins!) will securely hold the headpiece and veil in place.

  • Use multiple hair pins: Secure your veil and headpiece with multiple bobby pins or hair combs to ensure they don’t shift during the day. Make sure to choose pins that match your hair colour for a seamless look.
  • Try it on together: During your hair trial, make sure to try on your veil and headpiece together. This will give you a sense of how they work as a pair and allow your hairstylist to make any necessary adjustments.
  • Consider weight and balance: If your headpiece is particularly heavy, you may need to reinforce it with xtra pins. Similarly, if your veil is long and voluminous, make sure it’s anchored securely so it doesn’t pull on your headpiece.

Once the veil is secured into place with bobby pins, you’re now ready to position the headpiece and pin it into place. It’s best to secure the veil first and then the headpiece on top of the veil’s comb for a more seamless finish.

Choose headpieces constructed using split combs or no comb at all

When styling your wedding comb and veil, make sure you take into account how they’re constructed. If you have two central combs (one on the veil and one in the middle of the headpiece), it will be possible to layer them one of top of the other but it may be more of a headache – literally – than it’s worth.

Look for headpieces designed around a split comb system or headpieces which don’t feature a comb at all. This way you can easily position the veil, position the headpiece and easily secure them into place. The two comb system is signature to our brand – we feel two combs allows extra flexibility with style around various hairstyles and head shapes. And of equal importance, it means you can style your headpiece with a veil. Just ensure the combs are wide enough to sit either side of the veil’s comb.

The delicate details of the FAYETTE wedding halo inspired us to create this silver and rose gold wedding crown.

In our mind’s eye, we saw a piece with rose gold and blush pearls woven onto an antique silver fine crown.  If you’re familiar with our work, you’ll know that our signature details take inspiration from the beauty of nature.  We weaved tiny pearls, crystals and glass seed beads into subtle details that mimicked delicate wild roses and buds that had yet to bloom.

We love the breathlessness of this piece and the way your eye flows across the various intersections and details. There’s a fine balance to create a bold and beautiful piece that makes a grand statement without feeling or looking too heavy. We are always inspired by Mother Nature and this exquisite crown is a tribute to the perfectly imperfect we see when we look outside our windows.

Inspiration

Our FAYETTE wedding halo in silver and blush tones has been a loved piece from our Secret Garden collection. This collection focused on antique silver tones with champagne and blush accents – a colour combination we are endlessly inspired by.

We adore the simplicity of this delicate halo and the way it weaves across the hair so effortlessly.

For lovers of gold tones, the FAYETTE can also be customised in gold tones with ivory or blush details.

We love how couples are redefining and personalising wedding traditions. It’s not uncommon to see brides skip the traditional bridal garter toss and instead choose to wear their garter for their wedding night or save it for the honeymoon. There are no rules when it comes to these things. You shouldn’t feel pressured at all to wear a garter or participate in the garter toss festivities if it makes you feel uncomfortable.

For other brides, the garter toss is something they’ve always imagined doing on their wedding day. Just like wearing a wedding veil or being walked down the aisle by their Mum, Dad or favourite person.

It’s always lovely when our brides tell us how their hearts broke when their beautiful handmade ‘toss’ garter was flung into the crowd.  That always makes us smile because we love knowing that the pieces we create are cherished so dearly.

The perfect 'something blue' for your wedding day

The DAPHNE lace wedding garter has been one of the most popular lace garters from the wedding garter collection. Completely hand-dyed, we love the soft blue tones of this pretty set.

Subtle and sweet, our garter is custom made to order with your measurements so it sits snug against your skin and won’t add bulk beneath the layers of your wedding dress. It features cascading floral lace details, finished with a gentle sprinkling of rhinestones.

The toss garter is delightful too and sold separately.

Be sure to send us your measurements so we can ensure a perfect fit.

The ultimate guide to bridal bangs and wedding accessories.

When you think curtain bangs, Alexa Chung often comes to mind. This gorgeous look also graces the faces of Sienna Miller, Zooey Deschanel, Camila Cabello and Jennifer Lopez, and has been popping up all over Pinterest.

For some, curtain bangs are fast becoming a trend that’s much loved. For others, it’s a daily necessity. For us, we love a bride with a fringe.  There’s so much to love about an effortless centre part and soft wispy strands around the face. It’s a versatile hairstyle which combines bohemian luxe with girl-next-door, and with the right accessories, it makes a bold fashion-forward statement as you walk down the aisle.

The curtain fringe is the choice for those who want a less dramatic fringe without the bluntness. It suits a range of face shapes and frames the eyes in the most effortless way. The fringed look may be slightly parted and it is more feathered in appearance, perhaps even choppy. Generally it’s light and wispy and it’s also the style of choice for those brides who prefer a middle part or are perhaps trying to grow out their fringe.

Here are some of our favourite curtain bangs and fringes that are ultra chic for walking down the aisle.

1. Curtain bangs with a wedding updo

A soft fringe that’s split in the middle is perfect for the bride who wants to explore having a fringe without going all the way.

Those sections of hair that gracefully fall to the sides of the brows and cheekbones compliments the face without feeling overpowering. In fact, not only is it oh-so-flattering but it’s a practical way for those brides who are trying to grow out their fringes.

We love this style because it’s easy to style and looks beautiful with all lengths of hair from a short layered cut to long flowing lengths.

How to accessorise curtain bangs with a wedding updo

  • A delicate headband can add a touch of sparkle and elegance. Place it behind your bangs to keep them in focus.
  • Decorative hair combs can be placed at the side or back of your updo, adding a detail to behind without overshadowing your bangs.
  • Wedding updos leave your neck and ears more exposed, making it perfect for statement bridal earrings. With intricate hairstyles, simpler earrings can balance the overall look.

2. Loose waves with curtain bangs

We love the look of curtain bangs for formal looks because it still feels soft, relaxed and exudes boho chic vibes with long flowing gowns. Whether your fringe is a blunt, straight fringe, wispy bangs, curtain bangs, or side swept bags, all draw attention to the eyes and cheekbones in a way that’s romantic and feminine.

How to accessorise loose waves with curtain bangs

  • A flower crown, tiara or bridal headband can enhance a bohemian or garden wedding theme. Position it just behind your bangs for a cohesive look.
  • Dainty pearl drop earrings are a subtle way to add a touch of detail without overwhelming your look.
  • If you have short hair and a fringe, talk to us about how we can customise your veil onto a headband to better frame your face and stay in place.
  • A pearl necklace or choker is a striking piece that complements curtain bangs and frames the face.

3. Ponytails and soft fringes

The ponytail is another bridal look we are love. Chic with a hint of the riviera, a bride in a ponytail is a look that screams confident bride who isn’t afraid to be herself.

How to accessorise ponytails and soft fringes

  • We love to style ponytails and fringes with earrings to frame your face. Whether you love the look of classic studs, mid length drop earrings or longer silhouettes, dainty earrings are a beautiful way to finish your look.
  • A statement pearl bracelet is a striking way to adorn your wrist and leave your hair fuss-free.
  • A dainty hair piece at the top of your ponytail, such as the GEMINI headpiece, will frame your ponytail and your sheer minimalist veil.
  • We love to finish a ponytail with a minimalist veil. The AUDREY veil on a small comb is a minimalist veil which ticks all the boxes, or choose the BORDEAUX veil, which we designed specifically for the beloved ponytail.

1. Textured low updos

These modern updos are a fusion of braids and classic styles. Despite their intricacy, they don’t look overdone or overwhelming. They’re modern chic personified.

How to accessorise textured low updos

As these gorgeous updos are detailed-rich, opt for a delicate, yet equally detailed wedding comb or bridal hair pins to truly set your look off.

For a classic look, we love to pair textured updos with a backwards facing headpiece such as our LYRIC headpiece, JASMINE headpiece or ARTEMIS comb.

If you’re looking for a veil, we suggest positioning a sheer, simple fingertip or chapel-length veil from the crown or just above the updo. These hairstyles will work perfectly with or without a blusher, and a veil with or without embellishments.

2. The relaxed wedding bun

The wedding bun is more chic than ever with wispy tendrils and a low set profile. The chignon in 2018 is luxurious yet relaxed, and will take brides from garden soirees to formal gatherings.

Whether you have long or short hair, there’s a wedding bun for you. Your hairstylist can always add extensions to your hair if you’d prefer a fuller look.

How to accessorise a relaxed wedding bun

This classic look is all about keeping things chic and sophisticated. We love to style this look with simple hair pins and smaller combs. For a touch of regality, a bridal headband or floral crown is the perfect detail for an elevated bridal look.

For a simpler feel, pair this hairstyle with a thin and delicate headband to frame the face.

3. The chic ponytail

This year we will see many brides wearing chic ponytails down the aisle. We’ll be seeing glamorous high set wavy ones positioned at the crown to low set ponies tied at the nape of the neck.

For a more polished look, plump up your pony and wrap a strand of hair to cover the elastic. Finish with a pony tail wrap, cuff or velvet ribbon.

How to accessorise the chic ponytail

The playful ponytail pairs beautifully with pearl drop earrings and minimalist veils. Choose a veil on a small comb to ensure it doesn’t draw attention away from the ponytail. Keep things simple and sophisticated with dainty hair pins scattered to one side.

4. The new half updo

Part half updo, part side-swept, the new half updo is pure perfection. The braids and twists add that wow-factor, while the loose, wavy locks cascading down your back bring a softness and glamour.

How to style a side swept half updo

For those wanting to make a statement, you really can’t go past the whimsical details of the WHISPER hair pins scattered hair pins. For a touch more detail, the BRIAR-ROSE hair pins are feminine and refined.

And for you wedding veil lovers, this hairstyle would look gorgeous with a simple, chapel length veil like our AUDREY positioned either at the crown to create height or where your braid/twist ends in the middle. But why not take it up a notch, and look at embellished veil number such as our crystal trimmed chapel veil, ETOILE or pearl-detailed LOREN.

5. The half updo knot

Looking for something a little different, modern, yet still chic? May we introduce you to the half updo knot. For boho lovers, mess it up. Or for a more glam look, style it with loose waves and a smooth finish.

How to style the half knot updo

Depending on the thickness and volume of your hair, you could either add details to the side of your knot or directly to the knot itself. We love the idea of some delicate hair pin positioned into the bun to really create a beautiful focal point like our TEAROSE or scattered hair pins.

Is your heart set on wearing a veil? Opt for one on a smaller comb, like our AUDREY, DANCER or CALLA LILY veils. But if you’ve fallen in love with any of our veils, we can customise them with smaller combs, to suit you hairstyle.

Position your wedding comb directly above your updo, if the knot volume isn’t too grand; or just underneath to create a beautiful waterfall-like silhouette.

Knowing how to properly secure a metal hair comb is key to ensuring it stays in place throughout your special day.

Have you ever wondered how to make a metal hair comb stay in your hair?  Do you have a hairstyle where combs just seem to fall right out? Whether you’re planning to tuck a bridal hair comb into an updo, a half-up style or loose waves, knowing how to secure a comb is key to ensuring it stays in place. We share our tips on how to best secure a comb in your hair, complete with styling advice to help you achieve a flawless look.

Step 1: Choose the right comb for your hairstyle

Before you begin, it’s important to choose a bridal hair comb that complements your hairstyle.

  • For updos: A smaller, delicate comb works well for intricate updos, while a larger, more ornate comb can add drama and elegance.
  • For half up styles: A medium sized comb is ideal for half up styles as it will sit comfortably in the middle of your hairstyle. Look for designs that balance the volume and texture of your hair.
  • For loose waves: Consider a lightweight, less elaborate comb that won’t pull on your hair or feel too heavy. A side comb is a perfect option for loose waves and Hollywood-inspired looks.

Step 2: Prep your hair

Preparing your hair properly is crucial for ensuring the comb stays securely in place. We recommend these 3 methods to ensure your comb stays securely in place.

  1. The Tease: Also known as backcombing, this method involves lifting a layer of hair and gently teasing the underside with a fine tooth comb. It adds security to the security of hair where you plan to place the comb. It creates a cushioned base for the comb to sit and provides extra hold. Lower your section of hair and use bobby pins across the teeth of the comb to secure it into place.
  2. Elastic bands: If you have short hair, your hairstylist may use small clear elastic bands to create miniature ponytails in the area where you intend to position the comb. The tiny ponytails are best hidden beneath a section of hair. Once you’ve created a little row of elastic bands, gently nestle the teeth of the comb into the little bands and reinforce with bobby pins.
  3. The Pincurl: Gather a small amount of hair where you would like the comb to sit. Twirl it around your fingers to create a little curl an then pin it to your head with two bobby pins in an X shape. A little hair spray will fix it into position and then nestle your comb behind the bobby pins.

3. Position the comb

The placement of your bridal hair comb will depend on your hairstyle and the look you want to achieve.

  • Updos: For a classic updo, position the comb above or to the side of your bridal bun or chignon. If you’re going for a more modern or bohemian look, try placing it at the base of a low bun or at an angle.
  • Half up hairstyles: Insert the comb where the top section of your hair meets the lower section. This will help blend the comb into your style while keeping it secure.
  • Loose waves: Tuck the comb into the side of your head, above your ear or at the back where your hair naturally falls. Ensure that the comb isn’t too heavy, as tis can cause it to slip out of place.

4. Insert the comb

Now that your hair is prepped and you’ve decided on the placement, it’s time to secure the comb.

  • Hold the hair in place: Use your fingers to hold the section of hair where you’ll insert the comb. If you’ve backcombed this section, be gentle to avoid flattening the teased hair.
  • Insert the comb backward: Start by inserting the comb into your hair with the teeth pointing in the opposite direction of where you want the comb to sit. I.e. if you want the comb to face downward, insert it upward.
  • Flip and secure: Once the comb is partially inserted, gently flip it in the direction you want it to face. This flipping motion will help anchor the teeth of the comb into your hair, securing it in place.

5. Add extra security

To ensure your comb stays put throughout the day, consider these extra steps:

  • Use bobby pins: Slide a couple of bobby pins over the teeth of the comb, securing them in place. Choose bobby pins that match your hair colour for a seamless look.
  • Hairspray:  Use a light mist of hairspray to set your hairstyle and add extra hold.

Styling tips

  • Heavy headpieces will need a solid foundation to stay in place.  These may be better supported by upstyles or half up hairstyles.
  • If your comb is made from plastic, it may be more difficult to hold the comb in place with bobby pins. Small alligator hair clips might be useful.
  • These techniques can be used for hair pins, halos and similar accessories.
  • If you’re looking to change your hair accessories during the course of your wedding day (i.e. remove your wedding veil after the ceremony), be sure to take notes on how the comb was been secured so you don’t mess up your bridal hairstyle trying to remove it. Ask your bridesmaids for help looking for the bobby pins before the comb is pulled out.

Your hairstylist will be able to offer you advice and recommendations based on your hair type and your vision for your accessories. The half up, half down hairstyle is a much loved classic that can be customised to suit your style and wedding theme. With the right accessories, you can personalise your hair for a truly unique bridal look.

The classic wedding half up, half down hairstyle has been a bridal favourite for decades, and for good reason. It’s the perfect balance between polished and relaxed styling, and adapts beautifully to luxe, boho and minimalist bridal looks. On a practical note, the half updo creates the perfect base for your headpiece and veil while keeping your hair off your face.

This hairstyle works beautifully with various hair lengths and textures, and can be customised with accessories to complement your bridal look.

Let’s explore why the half up, half down hairstyle is a favourite among brides and how to style it to perfection.

How to style a half up knot

  • Depending on the size of the knot, you might be able to give hair accessories a miss and focus on statement earrings to balance your look.
  • A simple hair pin or a delicate vine can create a beautiful focal point for simpler hairstyles.
  • Planning to wear a veil? Choose one that has been attached to a smaller comb like our AUDREY, THEODORE or MORNING MIST styles. Position it directly above your updo if the knot volume isn’t too grand.  Or, just underneath to create a beautiful waterfall-like feel.

2. The relaxed boho half updo

We love this style for its relaxed intricacy. Loosely inspired by the fishtail braid, this updated hairstyle feels unrestrained yet formal enough to wear on your wedding day.

Braids and plaits are perfect for brides with thin hair wanting to achieve some volume. Weave in some subtle extensions to help create a romantic updo, while providing that much sort after volume. We are a little obsessed with braids that overlap each other, yet sit flush against the crown.

For a more relaxed vibe, sit your twists a little lower – at or below ear height – and loosen your twists.

How to style a twisted half upstyle

  • Choose a wedding hair comb or vine that accentuates the twists and curves of your hairstyle.
  • A veil that’s attached to a comb (1.5-3.5 inches wide) will feel flattering and proportional.
  • A sheer drop veil will offer a beautiful transparency which will let your hairstyle shine through.

How to style this look

  • Scatter hair pins along the curves and twists of your half up hairstyle
  • Nestle a hair comb into the back of your hair to add a touch of drama
  • Consider a veil that’s attached to a small hair comb (1.5-2 inches) to not overwhelm your hairstyle. Our favourite styles include the AUDREY and THEODORE.

1. Tousled Curls And Big Waves

You should never underestimate the potential of perfectly formed curls and waves. Refined and understated, they are perfect for minimalist through to elaborate and decadent wedding gowns.

You might have heard that a veil doesn’t stay in place with all out hair? We’d like to debunk this myth right here. You can definitely wear a veil with loose hair but you will need to ensure the veil is well supported with additional bobby pins hidden under the hair (across the teeth of your veil comb) to hold it in place.

Our favourite veils to wear with this look is a classic tulle veil, a mantilla or Juliet cap veil.

2. Side Swept Hairstyles

An asymmetrical hairstyle can be perfectly complimented by a range of veils. We love styling them with a classic tulle veil, from fingertip to chapel length and longer.

Position your veil at the crown, with or without a blusher. It will ensure it doesn’t weigh down your hairstyle, while creating the perfect frame for your hair and face.

3. Low Set Wedding Updos

Low wedding updos, such as your chignons, and romantic messy buns are so fashionable right now. This style is so versatile, and you can choose from a range of veil lengths, with or without a blusher.

We usually suggest securing your veil into the top of your updo. But it also works if you prefer to style your veil from the crown or as a mantilla.

Try adding some bridal pins to the side of your veil, or a comb just above – so that it overlaps the veil. It’ll elevate your entire hairstyle and bridal look.

4. Bridal Ponytails With A Veil

We’ve heard a lot of brides say that they’re wearing a ponytail on their wedding day so can’t wear a veil. We heard this and took on the challenge to design some beautiful veils for a ponytail. Introducing the BORDEAUX, CATALINA and the AUDREY veils.

5. Half-Up Half-Down

Half-up half-down is a faithful style that is complementary to many face shapes and lengths of hair. It is a look that works with or without a fringe. Try it with a soft curl, wave or add some subtle volume to your crown.

This style is fantastic for a veil because it gives you a foundation to secure it. The look works well with cascading, multiple tiered veils as well as fingertip veils. Soft, sweeping and elegant long veils will add a touch of whimsical romance. It is definitely one of the most versatile bridal hairstyles to choose.

6. High Wedding Updos

High wedding updos such as the ballet bun, are all about elevating your look. This style works well with cascading veils and classic tulle veils. Generally the veil is worn below the updo, but it all depends on the length of the veil and what looks and feels good to you.

A sheer drop veil pairs beautifully with a high wedding updo. Simply position the veil’s comb above the bun and the sheer fabric will gracefully drop over the bun for a look that’s ethereal and romantic.

If styling your veil with a hairpiece, nestle your veil comb between your updo and headpiece to create a beautiful image. Consider wearing a blusher for that touch of mystique. We suggest a delicate veil to contrast the slightly more dramatic hairstyle. It will add softness and grace as it creates an elegant long line.

7. Vintage Inspired Wedding Hairstyles

If you have a hairstyle that is inspired by the Great Gatsby or Mad Men then a juliet cap, birdcage veil or traditional veil might appeal.

Styling Tips
  1. Book a hair trial and chat to your hairstylist about what hairstyle is best for you.
  2. Hair extensions may be an effective way to add volume and bulk to your hair if your hair is fine.
  3. Take photos at your trial to share with your wedding accessories designer who can customise pieces to suit your look.
  4. Bobby pins are your friend when it comes to securing your veil into place. Two bobby pins crossed over to create a X shape across the teeth and under the hair will hold your veil in place.
