Old World Charm | Art deco bridal hair comb
I can’t get enough of sparkles and pearls, they go together like peas and carrots. And when I started designing this bridal hair comb a little while back, I knew that I had to bring together two of my favourite things. Precious pearls and oh-so-sparkly rhinestones!
It’s been exciting to see the Art Deco era inspire more and more weddings. I’ve really enjoyed working with brides-to-be looking to add just a little touch of vintage glamour to their wedding day look.
If it were possible to go back in time and live a day in specific decade, I would probably choose the 1920s. Not only did it look like a lot of fun (and I would twirl around in a heavily beaded flapper dress!) but I find the fashion and society at the time so interesting and inspiring. In fact, if you’re interested in the history of vintage wedding hairstyles to see how it evolved, be sure to check out my blog post where I go through the decades and my favourite hair looks!
But today, I wanted to share with you a bridal hair comb I created inspired by the 1920s. This comb is handcrafted using countless rhinestones (emerald cut, round, marquis and teardrop), cream toned pearls and lots of silver beading. I love the shape and the symmetry and I think it would look amazing positioned above a low bun!
And, the BEST bit – because it’s handmade, it’s completely customisable so it can be made in a different size or shape, or maybe even feature different detailing like more pearls or coloured rhinestones to match your bridal jewellery or wedding dress. Anything is possible!
